Foreign Trade
In 2004 the range of foreign commerce of Republic Bashkortostan was 3840.6 million USA dollars (the figure doesn’t include unorganized commerce) and increased on 26.1 per cent in comparison with the same period of the previous year, and the export range was 3525.9 million US dollars (29.4 per cent increase), the import range – 314.7 million US dollars (1.9 per cent decrease).
91 countries, including 80 neighbouring countries and 11 far countries - the members of UIC, became commerce partners of the republic. The ten top countries are Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Italy, China, Germany, Gibraltar, Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland. The range of commerce with these countries made up 68.8 per cent of foreign commerce turnover of the republic.
The range of foreign commerce with far countries made up 3066.3 million US dollars. It increased on 22.3 per cent in comparison with the same period of the previous year. At the same time the export increased on 25.9 per cent – for 2871.9 million dollars, and import reduced on 13.8 per cent – for 194.3 million US dollars. In comparison with the year 2003 the part of far countries in the foreign commerce of Bashkortostan decreased from 82.3 to 79.8 per cent, and in export their part reduced from 82.3 to 79.8 per cent. The part of far countries in import of Bashkortostan reduced from 70.2 to 61.7 per cent.
The republic’s commodity turnover with UIC countries in 2004 made up 774.4 million dollars, it’s on 43.9 per cent more than the last year’s level of the same period; and the part of export is 654.0 million US dollars (47.7 per cent increase), the part of import – 120.4 million US dollars (26.1 per cent increase). In comparison with the year 2003 the part of UIC countries in the republic’s commodity turnover expanded from 17.7 to 20.2 per cent, including export increase from 16.3 to 18.5 per cent and import increase – from 29.8 to 38.3 per cent.
Expand of the republic’s export is provided almost with the increase of chemical and oil products and caoutchouc to 66.9 per cent, of metals and metal goods – to 63.1 per cent, of wood and paper products – to 61.9 per cent, of equipment, machines, transport – to 38.6 per cent, of mineral products and fuel – to 21.4 per cent.
The commodity structure met little changes. The part of chemical products, caoutchouc increased from 12.8 to 16.4 per cent, the part of machines, equipment an d transport expanded from 7.4% to 7.9%, the part of metals and metal products – from 2.7% to 3.4%. The part of commodity products such as mineral products, fuel reduced from 75.2% to 70.5%.
In 2004 the products of the republic were bought by 82 world countries. The main countries-partners are Great Britain, the range of export there made up 593.3 million US dollars (increase 16.7% regarding 2003), Italy – 285.1 million US dollars (increase 58.3%), Ukraine – 282.7 million US dollars (increase 30.8%), Kazakhstan – 243.3 million US dollars (increase 56.3%), China – 230.5 million US dollars (increase 3.3%), Gibraltar – 209.8 million US dollars (increase in 36.6 times), Germany – 180.0 million US dollars (reduction 10.5%), Netherlands – 156.3 million US dollars (reduction 29.7%), Finland- 126.9 million US dollars (increase in 2.6 times), Switzerland – 125.3 million US dollars (increase 87.6%).
In 2004 machine building products, the main article of republic’s import, increased; the import index increased on 17.9% in regarding with 2003, the import of leather and fur raw materials increased almost in 2.5 times, the import of metals and metal products increased more than in 1.5 times, the clothes and shoes import – nearly in 1.5 times, import of mineral products and fuel – on 1.1%. the import reduction is noticed in wood and paper products supply – on 77%, of foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials – on 37,9%, of chemical products and caoutchouc – on 32.2%, supply of other goods decreased in general on 23.9%.
As a result, in commodity structure of import the part of chemical products and caoutchouc reduced from 12.3% in 2003 to 8.5% in 2004, foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials reduced from 12.9% to 8.2%. the part of machines and equipment increased from 42.2% in 2003 to 50.7% in 2004, mineral products and fuel – from 23.9% to 24.6%, and also the part of metals and metal products increased from 1.6% to 2.5%.
Last year the products from 63 world countries were supplied to the republic. The main partners are Kazakhstan – 82.2 million US dollars, (increase to 2003 – 1.7%), China – 39.7 million US dollars (increased on 11.44%), Germany – 38.4 million US dollars (increase on 3.7%) France – 20.3 million US dollars (increase on 8.5%), Ukraine – 17.6 million US dollars (increase in 2.3 times), Uzbekhistan – 15.3 million US dollars (increase in 5 times), USA – 13.9 million US dollars (reduction on 26.9%), Italy – 9.4 million US dollars (reduction on 9.5%), Switzerland – 9.0 million US dollars (increase in 4.8 times), Brazil – 8.8 million US dollars (reduction on 31.9%).
In general the last year import range form UIC countries increased on 26.1% in comparison with 2003, but the import from far countries reduced on 13.8%.
