27.05.03. - Interregional Exhibition And Fair “Urallegprom-2003” Started In Ufa

In the Republic Exhibition Hall The III Interregional Specialized Wholesaling Exhibition and Fair “UralLegProm-2003” (“The Ural’s Light Industry - 2003”) has just started. This year it has been organized by Exhibition Center “BashEXPO” together with Bashkortostan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Moscow-based JSC “Roslegprom”, “PLP-Yarmarka Ltd.” and supported by Department of the Industrial and Innovative Policy in light industry of the Russian Ministry for Industry, Bashkortostan Ministry for External Trades and Affairs and Ufa town authorities. Organizers of the exhibition noted at the ceremony of opening, the exhibition is being conducted under the program “Russian Fashion”, provided for development of the domestic light industry. The exhibition boosts the process of formation of domestic market for the light industry goods and promotes competitiveness of the domestic textile and clothing. Notably, “UralLegProm” will be interesting not only for the wholesalers, but also for the consumers, as it is opportunity to buy the goods to everyone’s liking at the fair. 80 companies and factories from Belarus, Ukraine and Russia (including Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Ivanovo, Rostov-on-the-Don, Penza, Kirov and other cities) have got their booths at the light industry achievements sector. Today there is also a meeting of the republic and Russian correspondents and mass media representatives with the top managers of the industry in the Republic Exhibition Hall. Later the problems of this sector of the industry will be discussed by representatives of Russian Ministry for the Industry and Science, regional Ministries and Departments, top managers and specialists of the light industry enterprises. The exhibition and the fair will last till May 30.

27.05.03. - Tuimazy Machine Builders To Supply Equipments to Nonolipetsk Industrial Complex

Ufa. JSC “Uraltehnostroy-Tuimazyhimmash” is one of the leading enterprises in Tuimazy. The complex workers have exceeded this year four months production program by thirty per cent. Within the first four months of 2003 the enterprise output totaled 32 mln rubles, whereas in the same period of 2002 its output totaled 25 mln rubles. The output is to rise even more since June. The reason is that Tuimazy machine building complex in the hard competition won the largest tender in its history and to supply Novolipestk metallurgical works with equipments in the total amount of over 2 mln US dollars. The order is extremely important, and it must have been done in September. To cope with the crucial task, Tumazy builders have been making their best efforts. Bashinform.

22.05.03. - Results of Congress for Russian Oil and Gas Industry Workers Summed Up

The IV Congress for Russian Oil and Gas Industry Workers has just ceased its work. General manager of the Institute for Power Resources Transportation Problems and Vice-President of the Bashkortostan Academy of Sciences Asgat Gumerov has summed up the forum. According to him, nearly 2000 people have participated in the Congress, 675 reports have been made with 650 of them having been reported at the sections. Amongst the participants have been present managers and specialists from Ministry of Power Engineering of Russia, “AK “Transneft”, “Transnefteprodukt”, JV “V’etsovpetro”, “KazTransOil”, “Bashkirskaya Toplivnaya Kompania” (“Bashkir Fuel Company”), “Bashneft”, “Bashneftehim” so on, representatives of republics and regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, USA, Germany, Vietnam. Basing on the Congress results, there have been made recommendations on growth of the prospected reserves and increase of gas and oil output, suggestions on legislative and executive regulations of the oil and gas complex operation, calculation of crude oil and oil products and metrological supply of the industry, gas and oil pipe-lining as well as recommendations on geophysics aspects of the industry and personnel preparation for the enterprises of the fuel and power engineering complex. All recommendations and suggestions will be represented to the legislative and executive authorities of Russia.

19.05.03. - The Oldest Oil Refinery Is a Leader Of the Best Fuels And Oils Manufacturers in Russia

The open JSC “Ufa Oil Refinery” is one of the oldest enterprises in the oil refining industry. The plant output the first batch of petrol back in 1938. Now UOR is a modern fuel-making enterprise. It produces automobile petrol, fuel for diesel engines and boilers and also liquefied hydrocarbon gases. Besides, the plant manufactures consuming products mostly detergents and shampoos. Flexible technological circuit at the plant allows processing different types of the hydrocarbon raw materials. The processing effectiveness comes to 77.8 per cent, which is the highest at the enterprise and one of the best in Russia. The refinery is constantly advancing technologies and working on the functioning objects to meet modern safety requirements. One of the basic production of the Ufa Oil Refinery is “Ă43-107 Ě 1” complex put into operation in 1995. This very compact installation serves to obtain highly octane petrol from vacuum gasoil. “New Ufa-Based Oil Refinery” was awarded with finalist diploma at the All-Russian competition “Russia’s 100 best products” for the products as follows: automobile petrol A-98 “Super-Plus”, A-95 “EuroSuper-Plus”; motor oil “Novoil-Motor”, transmission oil “Novoil Super T”, aviation gasoline “Á-91/115”, fuel for jet engines TC-1, needle-shaped oil coke.

15.05.03. - Bashkortostan Maintaining Its business Contacts With Croatia and Austria

Ufa. Bashkortostan Minister of the Foreign Affairs and Trades B. Kolbin visited Croatia and Austria on May 6-10, 2003. Visit to Zagreb was organized on the invitation of Ministry of Economy of Croatia with the purpose of establishing mutually beneficial trade and economical activity between Bashkortostan and Croatia. Summing up the results of his visit Kolbin pointed out that the planned program of the meetings had been carried out. The Russian Ambassador in Croatia - E. Kusmin, received him. According to the Minister, he knew from the Ambassador, Russia reveals high interest toward this northern Balkan country. As a proof of it, a presentation of Russian Central Federal territory with 15 regions is to take place in Croatia soon. Now Croatia is restoring its economy after Yugoslavia collapse and in bad need of investments. Industry share in Croatia’ GDP makes 20 per cent now, which meets average European indexes, and 25 per cent of the total workers are employed in the industry. The country’ largest income is drawn from food processing enterprises, oil refineries, chemical enterprises, electrical machine building, paper production, printing and publishing enterprises and vessel building plants. At meetings there was an offer to establish joint venture in machine building field. Croatian Minister approved the functioning business - cooperation between the parties in forest-industrial complex. After the meeting a Statement for cooperation was signed. In Austria Minister Kolbin visited Austrian Ministry for Economy and Labor, had a meeting with coordinator of cooperation with Russian Federation Mr. Burian. At the meeting the parties discussed continuation of the cooperation on apprenticeship of governors of Bashkir regions and towns in Austria. With the purpose of the further bilateral cooperation Austria offered to receive delegation of Bashkir businessmen this year.

13.05.03 - Bashkir Fuel And Power Engineering Complex - New Stages In Development

Recently annual meeting of the shareholders of the JSC “ANK “Bashneft” has taken place. According to the press service of the company, estimates of profit allocation and sums of dividends for 2003 have been approved as well as amendments to the Statute have been recorded. Shareholders have approved activities annual report, which states that in 2002 output decrease was stopped for the first time within the last 20 years. The company output totaled 12 mln tons of the crude oil which is 101,3 percent as per 2001 output. The rise became possible due to the increase in oil output in the territory of Khanti-Mansiysk autonomy. Currently “Bashneft” exploits over 150 deposits, and the majority of them are at the latest stage of the exploitation. Therefore, recently the company has actively been working on searching and prospecting the new deposits both in the territory of Bashkortostan and in Western Siberia. In the last six years in opening new deposits “Bashneft” is ranking the third among Russian oil companies. The company makes nearly 20 per cent of the total industrial output in Bashkortostan and one-sixth of the proceeds to the republic budget. In 2002 the company started great reforming in its structure aimed at increasing efficiency in production management. All services previously rendered by Bashneft’ own departments have been transferred to newly established companies. Main indexes of the company’s financial activity confirm the rightness of the chosen strategy.

13.05.03. - Conference Of Organization Committee Of The Congress For Oil And Gas Industry Workers Held

Today at the House of Republic a conference of organization committee for preparation and conducting of the IV Congress for oil and gas industry workers and the XI International exhibition “Gas. Oil - 2003” has been held. The Chairman, Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Rafael Baidavletov, has led the conference. Governors of the Ministries, Departments, enterprises and organizations involved into preparation and conducting the Congress and the exhibition have been invited to participate in the conference. President of Bashkortostan Chamber of Commerce Boris Bondarenko has reported on preparational work for the Congress and the exhibition. He has also informed that the Congress has been scheduled for May 21-22 and will have 8 thematic sections. Results of the Congress will be summed up at the plenary meeting held on May 22 in the Bashkortostan House of State Meeting (Kurultai). Over 1500 specialists and managers of the gas and oil industry, representatives of the federal and regional authorities as well as over 500 other guests are to take part in the sectional and plenary conferences. Amongst the guests, representatives of the Embassies of Great Britain, Venezuela, Lebanon, Ukraine and Belarus are to be present. Russian State Duma Chairman Gennadiy Seleznev is also to take part at the conference. State man of such rank is to participate in the forum for the first time. The large delegation of Russian State Duma is expected to come to the conference as well. At Russian Ministry of Power Engineering summit on the preparation and conducting of the Congress has been held, where subjects of the plenary conference and Congress sections have been discussed and executives at the Ministry have been appointed. Simultaneously with the Congress in May 20-23 there will be held the XI International exhibition “Gas. Oil - 2003”. Nearly 300 companies from Russia, CIS and non-CIS countries will participate at the exhibition. Among them 80 Bashkir companies and enterprises will be presented, which is 34 per cent of the total number of participants. Exposition total space will come to 4000 sq. m. with the Bashkir companies’ exposition totaling 1400 sq. m., which is 35 per cent of the total space. At the exhibition there will be informational booth for Bashkortostan Republic in the Palace of Sport lobby.

12.05.03. - “Neft’ And Gas” (“Crude Oil And Gas”) Exhibition Has Rich History

Bashkortostan is the single region in Russia that not only extracts crude oil, but also refines it into different products demandable worldwide. The last decade under the support of Bashkortostan State government Ufa-based oil-refineries started their re-equipping: during the period over 1 bln US dollars have been invested into petrochemical industry. This allowed maintaining work and securing effective activities of the large-scale enterprises of the industry. Main measures and events of investment activities into republic oil and gas sector have been recorded in the Federal program for Bashkortostan social and economical development till 2006. Today while there is a high competition between Russian crude oil refineries, Bashkortostan refineries are of particular interest, as many customers have chosen just Ufa-based refineries for crude oil refinement because of their high technological equipment and therefore top-quality products. Bashkortostan is developing cooperation between more then 90 countries worldwide. On the world oil market the republic is known as a stable-working region with high investment perspectives. International exhibition “Gas. Oil” having been held in Ufa for the eleventh time is one of the ways of establishing and developing such cooperation with foreign markets. Interest toward the exhibition is explained by that it scopes on all production stages in oil and gas industry - from prospecting for gas and oil deposits to oil refinement. Gas and oil professionals meet, exchange with knowledge, experience, problems and achievements, and conclude contracts and agreements. At the exhibition there is also an opportunity to discuss vital problems of pricing and taxation, appraise novelties of the domestic equipments and facilities. The exhibition turned into optimum market tool to help businessmen find a partner and make an agreement with him. The exhibition started in 1993 having had drawn great number of companies-participants at once. For the period of its existence “Gas. Oil” turned into remarkable event not only in the Ural and Volga regions but also in Russia in general.

08.05.03. - Belorertsk Metallurgical Works Accelerate Production Output

Ufa. Beloretsk metallurgical works has been accelerating production output, according to the works’ press service. In April as compared to March products output rose by 21 mln rubles, which is as much as 84 per cent higher then the same period of 2002. In comparison with the first four months of 2002 steel metises output rose 31 per cent. Metallurgists regularly pay to the state and local budgets and stick to restructure plan and schedule. Wage arrears at the works have fallen drastically - currently severance makes less then one month. The successes became possible after putting out of usage and dismantling out-of-dates open-hearth and blast furnaces a year before, which produced the most expensive steel and cast iron in Russia. Belorestsk works is being supplied with the scrap iron for steel metises production by Mechel JSC, based in Cheliabinsk, which together with Belorestsk works constitutes metallurgical holding of the same name. According to the Metises Manufacturers and Costumers Association results, now Beloretsk metallurgical works products are the most demandable one in Russia, ranking the second position in demand amongst 14 similar manufacturers’ products in Russia.

05.05.03. - "Bashkirenergo" As A Key To Success In Effective Policy

Reforming economy is a key direction of the industrial policy carried out in Bashkortostan and stated in the President’s Message to the Republic State Meeting. According to Bashkirenegro press service, recently presidents, managers, chief accountants of the affiliates and daughter enterprises have gathered to resolve on better conducting next phase of restructure, which concerns establishment of 8 new interregional energy generating companies responsible for supplying industrial enterprises and individual consumers with electricity and heating. Basing on the results of enterprises industrial and economical activities in the first three months of 2003, energy system of the region is positively developing. Rise in the technical and economical indexes has been recorded. Over 6.6 bln kW-hr of electricity were generated and supplied to the consumers so that three-months plan was over-fulfilled as much as 1.5 per cent. Energy production profitability totaled 9 per cent. Positive tendencies have been outlined in bidding for investments. Within the first three months of 2003 power engineering specialists organized and carried out 175 tender auctions in the total amount of 250 mln rubles, having had saved 15 mln rubles. In the list of priority objects there have been 12 gas turbine installations under construction and gas piston units for heat stations with the productive capacity totaling 80 MW. This year nearly 50 mln rubles have been invested into house building with 140 flats to be built. The Bashkortostan energy specialists’ success has effect on equity market: Bashkortostan securities have been ranked the third in the market after Mosenergo’ (Moscow energy generating company) and Lenenergo’ (St.-Petersburg energy generating company) financial securities.
